Danielle and her team are proud to offer a one-of-a kind cake smash experience. Celebrate the adorable personalities and big smiles of this special age!

first birthdays are a big DEAL

Every session includes portraits before the cake, a unique custom background created just for your baby, a delicious cake, and bath time!  We tailor to your preferences, from the color to the theme, in a classic yet festive way - creative and completely custom.

It is best to book a cake smash session in advance so that we have time to plan outfits and backdrop.

common questions…

  • Cake Smash sessions are approximately 1-1.5hrs

  • We recommend booking as much in advance as possible in order to allow ample time for planning and selecting your preferred session date. Cake smash sessions are recommended within the window 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after the first birthday.

  • Our cake smash sessions include three parts. We start with pre-cake portraits to capture personality images of your baby. Then we change into the birthday outfit for the cake smash where your little one can explore the cake and hopefully eat it too. Lastly, we capture adorable bath time images that always bring out the smiles.

  • Session day packing checklist: 

    1. Pre-cake outfit for photos before the cake

    2. Cake smash outfit.

    3. Any headbands, bows, etc,  you might want to use. This is optional - I have plenty!

    4. Small item(s), such as lovey, book, etc, that you know gets your baby laughing, smiling or comfortable in a new setting. This is optional.

    5. Water/Milk for baby and a small snack (ie. puffs, cheerios, or blueberries) that your baby likes. I have puffs at the studio too.

    6. If parents plan to go to work after the session, a change of clothes might be a good idea as you might get a bit cake covered :)

  • Prior to your session, we will send you a short questionnaire to complete so we can get to know your baby and any specific preferences or vision you might have for your session. We will then be in touch with you to talk about the personalized background, clothing, and final details. You will also receive our Prepped for Perfection guide that will set you up for a successful session!
