As a small business, I love supporting, recognizing, and connecting with other female entrepreneurs out there in the community. And as a mompreneur myself, I know how hard they work for themselves, their families, and their clients. They are each vital influencers of people all around you. I’d like to give some recognition to a few ladies who work hard every day, in the hopes of making a connection to someone that needs their services. We appreciate you more than you know, and we’re so proud to feature your business. We will be highlighting one business per month for the entire year of 2019!

1. What is the name of your company, and what product or service do you provide?

My business is RE Nutrition; a home based nutrition counseling practice where I meet with my clients in their home to provide ‘hands on nutrition in your kitchen’. I offer meal planning, meal prep, grocery store tours, and any other nutrition services that will help my clients reach their nutrition goals. I am happy to travel to my clients’ places of work or meet them at the grocery store. My goal is to make achieving a nutritious lifestyle more accessible.

I work with patients of all ages- from toddlers to senior citizens, but I have a passion for working with parents looking to create a healthier food environment and culture at home. I also love working with adolescents and college students working on recovering from eating disorders, weight concerns, body image issues, and self-acceptance.

2. What made you choose this type of business, and/or how did you get your idea or concept for the business?

I love being a dietitian because I believe that how we nourish our bodies can impact the quality of our lives. After being in the field for over eleven years, I started to feel the constraints of being in an office setting. Sure, we can talk about meal ideas, but I love being at home with my clients- to see what they stock in their refrigerator, to lend a hand with meal prep, to help them discover new foods at the grocery store, and to help parents feel proud of the meals and snacks they are serving at home.

3. In a nutshell, what is your core mission and what are your values?

My core mission is to help my clients feel good in their skin. As a registered dietitian and licensed professional counselor with a specialty in eating disorders, I care deeply about helping parents cultivate a food environment that teaches children that all food fits. I have a no judgment approach to food and believe it’s HOW we eat, not WHAT we eat that truly impacts our health.

4. What motivates you to get out of bed in the morning?

As the mom of two amazing little girls, I feel that my mission in life is to be a strong role model for them. To show them what it means to work hard and succeed, but also how to be a kind, thoughtful, and caring human.

5. What is your favorite quote?

I love the Dr. Seuss quote “To the world you may be one person; but to one person you may be the world.”

It’s so easy to get caught up in the chaotic aspects of life. If we can take a moment to stop and realize that it’s not in numbers, but in the connections, the care and attention we can give when we are in a position to help. It reminds me that our purpose on this earth is to make every effort to help those we can touch.

5. Do you have a special offer for blog readers that you’d like to share?

Yes! Mention this post and I will be happy to take 10% off your first session.
