Bright Floral and Butterfly Cake Smash

My go-to color palette for sessions is usually neutrals with subtle pops of color, but I also love the sessions that incorporate bright colors with fun props and decor. This sweet girl’s first birthday cake smash is the perfect example of that! She and her parents celebrated the occasion at our Rockville Maryland photography studio, where we got to take pre-cake, cake smash and bath time photos.

The theme of the smash was bright florals and butterflies, seen in the details of baby girl’s dress, her toys, the cake decor and fresh flowers in the background. She was a curious little one year old, exploring her surroundings and gradually digging into her cake. Doesn’t she have the most expressive eyes? They are just beautiful.
