As a small business, I love supporting, recognizing, and connecting with other female entrepreneurs out there in the community. And as a mompreneur myself, I know how hard they work for themselves, their families, and their clients. They are each vital influencers of people all around you. I’d like to give some recognition to a few ladies who work hard every day, in the hopes of making a connection to someone that needs their services. We appreciate you more than you know, and we’re so proud to feature your business. We will be highlighting one business per month for the entire year of 2019!

1. What is the name of your company, and what product or service do you provide?

The name of my company is Baby Gear by Julia. I deliver baby and toddler equipment rentals to traveling families to the DC Metro area. I offer everything from pack n plays and full size cribs to strollers and toys. Everything is clean, safe and insured. Baby Gear by Julia also offers “Kid Zone” packages for birthday parties, weddings and other events. Kid Zone package rentals typically include a Slide, Tunnel, Activity Table, Ride on Toy, Toy Box, Ball Pit, Fencing and Foam Flooring.

2. What made you choose this type of business, and/or how did you get your idea or concept for the business?

I was looking for ways to contribute financially to my family, but being a stay at home mom made it difficult to find work that didn’t require me putting my daughters in daycare. When I read about BabyQuip - the platform I use to rent my equipment - I thought it was a great service to bring to the DC area, as I also know the difficulties of traveling with little ones. It seemed like a win-win!

3. In a nutshell, what is your core mission and what are your values?

My mission is to help make traveling with little ones fun and easy! I want my customers to be able to relax, knowing their son or daughter is going to get a good night’s rest while on vacation or visiting family.

4. What motivates you to get out of bed in the morning?

My kids! I love seeing their smiling faces every morning.

5. What is your favorite thing about running your own business?

I have been a stay at home mom for the past 6.5 years. I love that with my business I can contribute financially to my family while still being able to stay at home with my kids.
